Overview

Confidential Client is hiring for an entry-level Software Engineer (Associate level and Software Engineer level) for a Pathways rotational program located in Linthicum Heights, MD. This role provides three engineering rotations, hands-on software development experience, exposure to multidisciplinary teams, and structured career development.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the software engineering team you will:

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems.
• Implement logical and mathematical solutions in code to meet system requirements.
• Collaborate with hardware and equipment designers on software/hardware integration.
• Participate in multidisciplinary research, design reviews, and system-level testing.
• Contribute to software lifecycle activities including requirements, implementation, verification, and maintenance.
• Rotate through up to three engineering assignments as part of the Pathways program.

Minimum Qualifications

For Associate Software Engineer (entry / Bachelor’s level):

• Completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance when needed.

For Software Engineer (Master’s level):

• Completing or recently completed a Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance when needed.

Common requirement for both levels:

• Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs within a reasonable period, as determined by the employer to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated academic or project experience in software development, algorithms, or systems engineering.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Compensation

Salary ranges (posted by the source):

• Associate Software Engineer: $76,200 to $114,400 per year
• Software Engineer: $91,800 to $137,600 per year

These ranges reflect the levels described and may vary by candidate experience and site-specific factors.

• Location: Linthicum Heights, MD (on-site in support of space and defense programs).
• Note: Certain roles require the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance — U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite for clearance eligibility.
