What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Assistant Scientist for entry-level laboratory work supporting GLP studies and analytical testing in an agroscience / life-sciences environment. This is a hands-on role with training provided — ideal for recent graduates or lab technicians moving into a research support role.

Primary responsibilities:

• Complete assigned research and development tasks following GLP guidelines for study execution, documentation, and recordkeeping
• Assist in conducting, monitoring, and reporting studies to ensure accurate, high-quality data
• Perform basic analytical tasks on projects using laboratory instrumentation and standard techniques
• Maintain clean, organized lab spaces and follow safety and compliance procedures
• Support sample preparation, data entry, and routine maintenance/calibration of equipment

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication and close attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; self-motivated and adaptable
• Willingness and ability to learn new techniques, multitask, and follow written and verbal instructions
• Familiarity with laboratory environments and good documentation practices
• Preferred: experience or coursework with HPLC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS

Basic minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or a closely related field — or equivalent demonstrated competence and lab experience
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Details

• Employment type: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; overtime as needed)
• Pay: $23.50 per hour
• Location: Hercules, CA — candidates living within a commutable distance are encouraged to apply
