About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Assistant Project Manager to join a growing civil/site construction team. This is a mentorship-driven position ideal for a recent Civil Engineering or Construction Management graduate with internship experience, or a candidate with 2+ years of relevant field or office experience. You will support estimating, field operations, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and project closeout while learning systems and processes with a clear path to Project Manager responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Operations Manager and Construction Project & Administration Manager with day-to-day project execution, including regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Coordinate scheduling and sequencing of subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners to maintain field momentum.
  • Support pre-construction estimating: quantity takeoffs, bid solicitation, proposal prep, and subcontractor buyout.
  • Help develop and maintain project schedules (Microsoft Project) and flag potential delays.
  • Manage project documentation in Procore: RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, punch lists, and daily field reports.
  • Assist with financial tasks: change order pricing, pay application preparation, budget tracking, and cost-to-complete reporting.
  • Prepare meeting materials and progress updates to maintain clear communication between field, office, and clients.
  • Conduct jobsite walks to monitor quality and safety; support punch list and closeout processes.
  • Contribute to process improvement by helping refine checklists and standard procedures.

Who You Are / Core Traits

  • Comfortable and confident on active construction sites.
  • Tech-savvy and curious — eager to learn Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, and AI tools.
  • Quick learner, coachable, and enjoys hands-on mentorship.
  • Well organized with strong follow-through and time management.
  • Clear communicator and team player with a professional demeanor.
  • Ambitious, responsible, and motivated to grow into a Project Manager role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with internship experience; OR a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in construction/engineering in lieu of a degree.
  • Basic understanding of civil and architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (Microsoft Project or similar) or willingness to learn.
  • Hands-on proficiency with, or strong willingness to learn, Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office and travel between job sites with a cell phone and laptop.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly across Central Florida; CDL is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional, can-do attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary: $65,000 - $95,000
  • Competitive base pay plus opportunity for a performance-based yearly bonus (after 2 years).
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Mileage reimbursement for site travel.
  • Home office setup and laptop provided.
  • Cell phone reimbursement.
  • Company-sponsored training, industry certifications, and continued-education support.

Work Location & Schedule

  • Role is structured as ~75% remote (home office) and ~25% travel within the Central Florida region for site support, meetings, and networking (approximately 1 day per week).
