Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Assistant Project Manager / Entry‑Level Estimator to join their marine construction team in Westhampton Beach, NY. This is a hands-on, early-career role with structured training and mentorship designed to develop estimating and project management skills — a clear path toward a Project Manager position.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active marine construction projects.
- Support preparation of estimates, bids, and proposals for public and private projects.
- Review and organize project documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Gather and track pricing, quantities, project costs, schedules, and other key data.
- Create and maintain project spreadsheets, reports, and documentation using Microsoft Excel.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and outstanding items to help keep projects on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with project-related follow-up and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with experienced Project Managers and estimators to learn scopes, requirements, and industry processes.
- Develop working knowledge of construction estimating, bidding, project coordination, and marine construction operations.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- 0–2 years relevant professional experience; 1+ year preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related fields a plus).
- Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Westhampton Beach, NY and travel to local project sites as needed.
- Willingness to learn estimating, bidding practices, and marine construction operations.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $80,000 – $100,000 per year.
- Compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
