What You’ll Do

This Contract-to-Hire Assistant Project Manager will support delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, working under the guidance of the Project Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Serve as a liaison between office and field teams to maintain clear and consistent communication.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation: daily reports, logs, RFI/issue tracking, and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with progress monitoring, schedule updates, and status reporting in project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Help maintain cost tracking and basic accounting records related to project activities.
  • Coordinate communication among subcontractors, vendors, and clients to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
  • Participate in site walk-throughs and support field inspections as required.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices for cost tracking and recordkeeping.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with field crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work under the guidance of a Project Manager and collaborate with office and field personnel.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with construction project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) preferred.
  • Prior construction experience or internship.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes, terminology, and on-site safety practices.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in construction project management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour (range provided by the client; individual pay will depend on experience and qualifications).
  • Employment type: Contract-to-hire.

Work Environment & Location

  • Location: Fully onsite in Maple Grove, MN (Maple Grove, MN).
  • Role involves a mixed environment of office work and onsite construction job-site presence with some local travel for site walk-throughs.
  • This is a contract-to-hire position: initial engagement as a contractor with potential for direct hire by the confidential client.
