About the Role
Confidential Client seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of heavy civil construction and utilities/sitework projects. This is an early-career to intermediate role ideal for recent graduates or professionals with 1+ years of relevant experience who want hands-on exposure to project execution, submittals, scheduling, and field coordination.
Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year + performance bonuses

What You’ll Do
- Interpret project plans and specifications to support accurate field execution
- Assist with review and management of project submittals
- Generate purchase orders and track material deliveries
- Support project scheduling and coordination with subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare and organize daily field reports for project leadership
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and client requirements (including access to secure sites)
- Provide general support to Project Managers and Superintendents to keep projects on schedule and on budget
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required (candidates must be U.S. citizens to meet federal project requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Construction Management is an acceptable alternative
- 1+ years of experience in heavy civil construction preferred; entry-level candidates with strong academic records will be considered
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented mindset
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks for access to military bases and federal facilities
- Civil Engineer license or active progress toward licensure is a plus

Schedule & Location
- Full-Time — Monday through Friday
- Location: Johnson City, TN (this posting is for the Johnson City area; projects will require travel to job sites; per diem provided when applicable)
