Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Assistant Project Manager to support project management activities on commercial construction projects based in Gilroy, CA. This role provides hands-on exposure to construction documentation, subcontractor coordination, and on-site project support while working with an experienced project team.


What You’ll Do

  • Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Maintain document control logs (submittals, drawings, change orders) and prepare reporting for construction meetings
  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, coordination, and resolution of project issues
  • Create and issue subcontractor contracts and ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely
  • Support assembly and timely delivery of Owner and Maintenance Manuals
  • Ensure the project quality control plan is followed and interact with subcontractors to obtain required documentation and drawings
  • Attend project meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal teams; provide project management support
  • Collaborate with field personnel to provide technical assistance and monitor other contractors’ activities and progress
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports and payroll-related documentation as needed
  • Use Microsoft Office tools daily; Oracle experience is a plus

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent training and relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Clear, professional communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff, vendors and clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle experience preferred
  • Able to work on active construction sites and travel to project locations as required
  • Demonstrated ability to meet customer expectations and follow company/project procedures
