Role Overview
Confidential Client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support project teams across the full project lifecycle for commercial construction and engineering projects. This role is hands-on, Procore-centric, and designed for someone who wants a clear development path into a Project Manager role.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Project Managers with estimating, budgeting, and bidding new projects.
- Support preparation and administration of subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules and monitor subcontractor performance and compliance.
- Track project progress in Procore: update schedules, RFIs, submittals, and daily logs.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation: meeting minutes, status reports, and closeout files.
- Monitor project costs and help prepare progress billing and related documentation.
- Participate in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with punch lists and project closeout activities.
- Learn from experienced project managers and superintendents with an eye toward leadership growth.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction (internships and entry-level roles considered).
- Hands-on experience with Procore and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and clear written/verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented attitude with eagerness to learn and grow.
Education & Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred — OR equivalent construction experience.
- Demonstrated interest in moving into project management and leadership roles.
