Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Assistant Project Manager - Civil to support project management activities on electrical construction projects. This is an entry-level project management role based in Pacheco, CA, focused on project documentation, subcontractor coordination, and supporting the Project Manager to keep projects on schedule and compliant.


What You’ll Do

  • Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain and update change order logs, submittal logs, drawing/document control logs, and warranty logs.
  • Support creation and issuance of subcontractor contracts and Job Information Sheets; establish and maintain job files.
  • Prepare and track Owner and Maintenance Manuals; coordinate required documentation and drawings from subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams and provide project-management support.
  • Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress and help resolve project issues as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports, and other required documentation for construction meetings.
  • Work with payroll and administrative teams to ensure accurate payroll information and project records.
  • Cooperate with and provide technical/admin assistance to field personnel as needed.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under changing conditions.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively at all levels (clients, vendors, subcontractors, coworkers).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle experience preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively on a team.

Minimum Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, OR equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction-related role (entry-level project management experience preferred).

Travel

  • Up to 25% travel required.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily performed on active construction sites: sitting for periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
  • Typically low-to-medium noise levels; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

  • $79,600.00 - $104,500.00 annually (range provided by Confidential Client; actual pay will vary based on experience, location, and qualifications)
