What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Assistant Product Manager to support product planning, new product introductions (NPI), and cross-functional coordination. You will work closely with the Product Manager to translate market needs into product requirements, support production and launch activities, and serve as a point of contact for Sales, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and external vendors.

  • Conduct market research and translate customer needs into product and business plans
  • Assist with product requirements for products, packaging, accessories, and manuals
  • Create and maintain SKUs and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support NPI activities across all stages; coordinate with Engineering and Project Management
  • Help develop and execute NPI and sustainment marketing collateral (sell sheets, campaigns)
  • Manage product holds and coordinate resolution with Quality, Legal, Engineering, and Product teams
  • Support website and price list updates for the product portfolio
  • Coordinate directly with third‑party vendors, suppliers, and distributors
  • Assist with inventory review and execution for slow-moving or legacy stock
  • Serve as backup to the Product Manager and act in that role when needed
  • Train and mentor Operations Support Specialists to improve productivity and quality
  • Participate in continuous improvement (CI) and sustain 5S standards
  • Travel to events and tradeshows as required

Who We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a similar role — experience in the firearms, defense, or related manufacturing industry preferred
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Strong business acumen with market research, basic financial literacy, and project tracking experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable acting as a technical advisor to Sales and Operations and escalating issues as needed
  • Product Management certificate preferred

Skills & Tools

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with Monday.com, Agile methodologies, Oracle an advantage
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (1+ year preferred)
  • SKU and BOM creation and maintenance
  • Market research, product requirement documents (PRDs), and launch collateral

Working Conditions

  • Primarily desk-based work with prolonged computer use
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when required
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in applicable areas
  • Must comply with all required EH&S training, safety, and ISO procedures
  • Occasional travel for events and tradeshows

Compensation & Logistics

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Location: Exeter, NH (on-site or as specified by Confidential Client)
  • Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience (no salary disclosed by the client)
