Role Overview

Confidential client is seeking an Assistant Estimator to support the estimating team in Beaumont, TX. This position helps prepare accurate, detailed, and timely cost estimates for construction projects, including quantity take-offs, soliciting supplier/subcontractor pricing, and assisting in bid development. This role reports to the estimating lead and works closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and operations.

This is NOT a remote position — you must be able to report to the Beaumont, TX office Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for all project phases (conceptual through final).
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and digital estimating tools.
• Solicit, collect, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, and unit cost records.
• Review bid documents, plans, and specifications to identify scope and risks.
• Support bid proposals, budgets, and cost-comparison documents.
• Assist with project handoff to operations and procurement after award.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value-engineering sessions as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of pricing and estimating information.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in estimating, construction, or related field (internship or entry-level experience acceptable).
• Basic understanding of construction materials, methods, and terminology.
• Proficiency with quantity take-offs and familiarity with digital estimating software is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
• Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the company vehicle driving privileges per the company Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
• Must be able to work on-site in Beaumont, TX Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
