What You’ll Do
Confidential Client (Engineering) is seeking an entry-level Assistant Engineer to support planning, design, and implementation of capital improvement and infrastructure projects in Connecticut. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering design, permitting, construction support, and project coordination within a regulated utility environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and execution of infrastructure and capital improvement projects
- Support engineering teams in developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction-related activities
- Assist with permitting applications and regulatory approval processes
- Coordinate project documentation, schedules, and engineering deliverables
- Support construction administration and project implementation efforts
- Maintain engineering records, as-built drawings, and operations & maintenance documentation
- Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, project requirements, and safety procedures
- Perform additional engineering and project support activities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Knowledge of engineering principles and infrastructure project delivery
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project teams in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Exposure to hydraulic analysis and engineering design concepts
- GIS experience
- AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience
- Experience supporting water, wastewater, utility, or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with permitting processes, technical documentation, and construction support activities
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
- Location: Connecticut, US (work performed for Confidential Client in Connecticut)
- Estimated pay: $78,209 per year (estimated)
