What You’ll Do
- Assist the design team in creating brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.
- Deliver design sketches and prototypes with clear specifications for construction.
- Build and maintain the sample room and manage development samples to meet timelines.
- Create flat sketches and CAD images for product development.
- Prepare the design team for routine and milestone meetings (line presentation boards, tableaus, product sample selection).
- Communicate development status and details to internal partners (Production, Technical, Merchandising) and vendors.
- Partner with technical design on fit and prototype execution; support fittings and follow-up.
- Track and organize samples to ensure seamless handoffs to key stakeholders.
- Attend team meetings and partner alignment sessions; adapt designs based on feedback for finalization.
- Source ideas and stay current on competitor research and trend analysis.
- Present concepts visually through mood boards and concept tears.
- Pursue continuous learning and contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency and speed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Entry-level candidate with some design experience in a comparable retail or apparel environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; experience with Centric is a plus.
- Strong commercial fashion eye and attention to product styling and performance.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple development samples and priorities.
- Clear communication and presentation skills; ability to convey construction instructions.
- Team-oriented, customer-service mindset with accountability and professionalism.
- Motivated, results-oriented, flexible, and a creative problem solver who can react with speed and agility.
