What You’ll Do
The Assistant Civil Engineer supports project teams under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to develop civil designs and documentation for a variety of projects. You will help produce design deliverables and support construction-phase activities across Transmission & Distribution and other facility types.
- Assist in civil design from concept through design completion for projects including power, process, industrial, healthcare, airports, institutional, and government facilities
- Modify and review production drawings and update designs across CAD platforms
- Support preparation of technical studies, reports, and project documentation
- Assist with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration
- Perform field inspections, measurements, and site calculations as required
- Work with project managers to adapt designs to budget, constructability, and client needs
- Follow company policies, quality procedures, and safety practices; perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) required; OR Bachelor’s in Civil or related Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited) plus successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Prior internship or consulting experience preferred
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, and standard practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD and civil design tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit (BIM), Civil 3D, PLS / PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong teamwork, facilitation, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership potential; Engineers-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred; campus or community involvement a plus
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction or need for sponsorship
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 — $110,000 per year (range provided in compliance with applicable regulations; actual pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and work location)
- Total compensation may include base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program

- Travel: approximately 10% of the time
