Area Sales Representative
The Area Sales Representative is an entry-level outside sales role responsible for developing new accounts and supporting existing customers within an assigned territory to achieve annual sales targets. The position involves direct customer interaction, cold calling, coordinating with sales and service teams, and managing sales activities through CRM systems. What You’ll Do
This Field Sales / Area Sales Representative role is an entry-level outside sales position focused on territory growth and account development for a Confidential Client in the Sales industry. You will generate new business, support existing customers, and help the team meet revenue goals for an assigned geography.
Communications & territory growth
- Communicate product benefits and value to prospective customers to drive sales.
- Prospect and generate new accounts through cold calling, in-person visits, and lead follow-up.
- Grow top-line revenue and meet assigned sales targets for your territory.
Account support & coordination
- Support and maintain relationships with existing customers; coordinate with the service team and Area Sales Manager.
- Prepare and administer quotes, including for maintenance contracts.
- Record and maintain Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes, and Orders in the CRM.
Product knowledge & teamwork
- Learn and retain working knowledge of the industrial product catalog and common catalog exceptions.
- Coordinate sales efforts with teammates and other departments.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support sales objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a safe driving record per company and insurance policies; must pass driving physical.
- Willingness and ability to travel by vehicle daily within the assigned territory; occasional air and overnight travel (up to ~30%) for trade shows, training, or site visits.
Skills & Tools
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM systems and keeping accurate sales records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with cold calling, in-person selling, and developing long-term customer relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels.
Work Environment & Travel
- Primarily office-based for administrative work with frequent customer-facing visits.
- Customer site visits may include industrial, construction, agricultural, and other environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and uneven terrain.
- Daily vehicle travel within the assigned territory is required.
- Occasional overnight or air travel for trade shows, training, or job site visits (up to ~30%).

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $41,444 per year (base estimate) — Base + Commission structure.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and other customary benefits.

- Confidential Client may obtain consumer and/or investigative reports (education, employment, driving records, criminal history, credit history where job-related) from third-party agencies as part of the hiring process.
- Post-offer, pre-employment drug testing is required.
