What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Architectural Drafter to produce accurate construction documents and CAD drawings that support retail store development, remodels, and interior updates. You will work with a collaborative store-planning team, partner with architects and designers, and coordinate with remote leadership to deliver clear, buildable drawings that match project requirements and company standards.

  • Prepare detailed construction documents, floor plans, and technical drawings for new builds, remodels, and existing retail locations using AutoCAD
  • Translate architectural and interior design concepts into precise, standards-compliant drawings
  • Maintain and organize project plans, drawing revisions, and documentation using Microsoft Excel and internal systems
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, store-planning team members, and remote leadership on priorities, approvals, and revisions
  • Update drawings based on field feedback, site conditions, and design modifications
  • Assist with space planning and store layout development when needed
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with independent ability to create and modify construction documents
  • Strong knowledge of drafting principles and technical drawing conventions
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design documentation
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to track and organize project data
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in team-based settings
  • Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
  • Six months or more of drafting experience gained via coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional work
  • Experience supporting retail, commercial, or interior space-planning projects
  • Familiarity with MicroStation or other CAD platforms is a plus
  • Understanding of construction and interior design processes and practical problem-solving skills

Job Type & Location

  • Employment type: Full-time (Contract assignment possible)
  • Location: Onsite — Milwaukee, WI
  • You will be employed by Confidential Client and will work within their store-planning/design environment.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour (actual pay within range depends on experience, skills, and other job-related factors)
