What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Apprentice Technician to join the service team in Huntersville, NC. This role is designed for candidates who want hands-on experience, technical training, and a clear path to becoming a Service Technician.

  • Assist Master/Service Technicians and Team Leaders in examining customer vehicles
  • Help identify necessary repairs and maintenance items
  • Assist with estimating repair costs and requesting necessary parts
  • Support performing vehicle repairs and maintenance under supervision
  • Document services performed and maintain accurate timekeeping records
  • Learn to use dealership and manufacturer service guidelines, tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Maintain customer service standards (CSI) and a clean, safe work area
  • Participate in required training (NAPA, manufacturer, state inspection/emissions where applicable)
  • Follow all Federal, State, Local, and company safety rules and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the service department

Qualifications

To succeed in this apprenticeship, candidates should demonstrate mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and reliable attendance.

  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems or relevant technical training
  • Demonstrable mechanical or hands‑on skills
  • Eligible for NAPA/manufacturer/state inspection training where applicable
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic computer skills to use timekeeping and parts/inventory systems
  • Strong communication skills to follow instructions and interact with customers and team members
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks: stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hand tools

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Up to 3 years of related automotive experience acceptable for entry-level apprenticeship
  • Technical training or commensurate experience is a plus

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Work primarily in a dealership service area with exposure to vehicle noise, fumes, and shop conditions
  • Scheduled shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
