What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Apprentice Technician to join their service team. This is an entry-level, hands-on role where you will learn automotive service and repair while supporting experienced technicians. You will receive on-the-job training and progression opportunities toward a full Service Technician role.
- Assist Service or Master Technicians with vehicle inspections and diagnostics
- Help identify required repairs, parts, and maintenance tasks
- Support estimating and documenting services performed
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and assist with repairs under supervision
- Request and track parts; assist with parts department processes
- Use dealer systems and technology to record work and enhance customer service
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety rules
- Participate in required training, including manufacturer and vendor programs
- Accurately record time worked in the company timekeeping system
- Adhere to dealership and manufacturer service guidelines and company policies
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic mechanical knowledge of automotive parts and systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrable mechanical aptitude or relevant technical training
- Up to 3 years of related work experience (entry-level acceptable)
- Basic computer skills to use timekeeping and parts/inventory systems
- Ability to follow instructions, read technical manuals, and communicate with customers and team members
Preferred / Career Development
- Eligibility and interest in manufacturer, NAPA, or state inspection/emissions training
- Willingness to complete dealership-sponsored training and certifications
- Strong attendance, reliability, and a customer-first mindset
- Ambition to advance into a certified Service Technician role
Physical & Work Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (stand, walk, stoop, kneel)
- Work performed primarily in the service bay around vehicles and test equipment
- May be exposed to noise, fumes, vibration, and typical shop conditions
- Scheduled shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
