What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Applied Behavior Analyst Therapist (ABA Behavior Technician / Line Technician) in Metairie, LA. In this role you will deliver ABA-informed therapy to children and adolescents affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities. You will work in schools, centers, or other natural environments implementing individualized behavior programs and supporting caregivers and teachers.

  • Implement individualized ABA programming and teach social, communication, and daily living skills
  • Follow behavior reduction and skill-acquisition plans developed by supervising BCBAs
  • Collect accurate, timely data and enter it into an online tracking system
  • Provide consistent, compassionate support to clients, families, and school personnel
  • Respond quickly and effectively to prevent or deescalate challenging behaviors
  • Remain within close proximity of clients as required by program protocols
  • Actively engage clients in motivating, developmentally-appropriate activities and games
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, clinical staff, and teachers to support treatment goals

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Previous experience with autism and ABA is helpful and required for many positions
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to sit on the floor and be physically active for extended periods
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds when needed and to react quickly in safety-related situations
  • Willingness to stay within required proximity of clients, including during elopement risk
  • Willingness to implement interventions to prevent, reduce, and deescalate challenging behaviors
  • Successful completion of a background check is required; eligibility will be determined in accordance with applicable law
  • Please indicate on your application whether you are or have been registered as a Registered Line Technician with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board
