Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Applications Sales Engineer to support customers and outside sales in selecting, specifying, and quoting pump systems and related equipment. This role blends technical problem-solving, customer service, and sales support in industrial, municipal, commercial, irrigation, and fire protection markets.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to customer inquiries about pumps, parts, and accessories.
- Use pump selection software to select and specify pumps and related equipment.
- Prepare technical quotations, proposals, and submittals tailored to customer requirements.
- Coordinate new orders for pump equipment and assemblies.
- Troubleshoot application and operational issues with customers and end users.
- Provide technical assistance across the client’s pump product portfolio.
- Support outside sales representatives with equipment selection, quoting, and customer relationships.
- Review engineering specifications and bid requirements for proposed equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 2–5 years of related experience preferred; pump selection or application experience is a plus.
- Entry-level engineering candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer-based selection tools, business systems, and email.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer deadlines.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Experience with centrifugal pumps, positive-displacement pumps, mechanical seals, or rotating equipment.
- Experience supporting industrial, municipal, commercial, irrigation, or mining applications.
Location & Compensation
- Location: Collierville, TN (on-site or as specified by the hiring manager).
- Estimated salary: $94,405 per year (estimated).
