Role summary
Confidential Client is hiring early-career engineers into an Applications Engineering Development Program based in Wilsonville, OR. This is a structured, rotational program (two years with an optional third-year rotation) that accelerates technical and leadership growth through hands-on product exposure, sales engineering experience, and manufacturing assignments. Relocation to endorsed client sites is required as part of the program.
What You’ll Do
You will rotate across Applications Engineering and Sales Engineering functions and gain product, test, and customer-facing experience. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support product application and system-level troubleshooting for power distribution and control products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, test, sales, and customers) to validate product performance
- Develop technical proposals, application guides, and customer-facing presentations
- Lead or contribute to small projects that improve product performance or manufacturability
- Complete formal presentations to leadership summarizing rotation achievements
- Optionally, take a third-year rotation with frontline people management experience (Product Supervisor)
Program focus areas include Low Voltage & Medium Voltage motor control, panelboards, switchboards, busway, medium voltage breakers and fused switchgear, automatic transfer switches, safety switches, protective relays, and low-voltage switchgear.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary: $82,000 per year (estimate; final offer depends on skills, experience, and market factors)
- One-time signing bonus: $6,000
- Relocation assistance for required rotations

Minimum (Required) Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution; graduation before July 2027
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
- At least one internship or co-op (or ~3 months relevant experience) completed at time of application
- Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States for the duration of the program

Preferred Qualifications
- Degree specifically in Electrical Engineering
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
- At least 6 credit hours in Power Systems coursework
- Two or more relevant internships or co-op experiences; experience with utility or power distribution preferred
- Demonstrated leadership in campus or community activities
Position criteria & logistics
- Rotations are typically located at manufacturing sites across the U.S.; examples include Arden, NC; Greenwood, SC; Fayetteville, NC; Sumter, SC; El Paso, TX; Portland, OR; and others. Participants must be willing to relocate to endorsed client sites.
- Local/regional travel up to ~25% may be required.
- Transportation to/from assigned worksites is the participant’s responsibility; expenses for required business travel (outside of commute) will be reimbursed per policy.
- Some assignments will include video and in-person interviews; final hiring decisions are made by people and follow applicable employment laws.
