Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Applications Engineer to support automation and tooling integration for industrial magnet-based solutions. This onsite role (Superior, CO) works closely with sales, automation engineering, and manufacturing teams to design, simulate, and validate tooling for robotic production lines. The role uses 3D CAD, FEA, and automation controls knowledge to deliver customer-ready solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with sales and automation engineering to capture customer requirements and propose optimal magnetic tool solutions.
- Design magnetic tools, custom accessories, and fixtures using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Prepare 2D fabrication drawings, dimensional overlays, and manufacturing documentation.
- Set up and evaluate FEA simulations (ANSYS preferred) to validate magnet and tooling performance.
- Support integration with automation systems—robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and sensors—and provide implementation guidance for production lines.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component records in ERP systems (NetSuite).
- Use AI and digital tools (e.g., Copilot, SharePoint workflows, simulation analysis) to improve design workflows and project delivery.
- Plan and execute tests, analyze results, and document technical findings and milestone reports.
- Coordinate with international teams and external vendors as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
- Entry-level: 0–2 years relevant experience (internships, co-ops, lab work, substantial engineering projects welcome).
- Mid-level: 3+ years of relevant applications, mechanical, manufacturing, automation, or customer-facing engineering experience.
- Strong SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD) skills.
- Familiarity with robotics, tooling design, industrial sensors, PLCs, and control systems.
- Experience with GD&T and mechanical design fundamentals.
- Experience or familiarity with FEA (ANSYS preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to prepare BOMs and work with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication; customer-focused and collaborative.
- Hands-on problem-solving skills; ability to organize testing and analyze results.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 — $110,000 per year (Colorado good-faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications).
