What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Applications Engineer to support product designs, sustain existing processes, develop optimized processes, and ensure supplier quality for specialty equipment. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver engineered solutions, prototypes, and test plans.
- Practices prudent engineering and applies formal engineering principles to improve product lines
- Support cross-functional design, manufacturing, and customer service teams
- Develop test specifications and build/test prototypes
- Perform engineering analyses on critical components and provide design recommendations
- Create physical test reports and documentation as required
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to designers and engineering technologists
- Interface directly with suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues and support products in the field
- Lead or manage projects and provide team leadership when assigned
- Champion quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following education/licensing paths:
- ABET EAC–accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering
OR - Master of Science in Engineering from a program that offers ABET EAC–accredited BS degrees
OR - Active PE license in the United States
Additional requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with team members and with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (may include short-notice travel and flying)
Preferred / Helpful Experience
- Hands-on experience developing and testing prototypes
- Experience with supplier quality and interfacing with external vendors
- Background in product design for heavy equipment, aerial devices, or specialty machinery
- Demonstrated ability to create test specifications and technical reports
