What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Applications Engineer to provide hands-on technical support and product application expertise for test & measurement (T&M) instruments. This is a customer-facing technical role focused on pre-sales demonstrations, post-sales troubleshooting, and developing application content that helps customers get the most from our products.
- Become a product expert on core T&M products (power analyzers, optical spectrum analyzers, DAQ systems) through hands-on training and troubleshooting.
- Deliver world-class pre-sales demonstrations (virtual and in-person) that show product value for customer applications.
- Provide post-sales technical support via case management, live chat, email, and phone to resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.
- Troubleshoot application and configuration issues; reproduce customer problems and recommend solutions or workarounds.
- Support field events, trade shows, customer trainings, and customer-site application visits (travel required; typically 1–4 overnight stays).
- Collaborate with product managers, sales engineers, and senior application engineers to create technical marketing content (application notes, white papers, demos, videos).
- Assist internal teams (order entry, production control, calibration) with technical inquiries regarding parts compatibility, special orders, and options.
- Take on special projects that expand your skills and prepare you for broader roles within the business unit.
- Work on-site (WFO) approximately 3 days per week; some flexibility for remote/virtual work as required.
Who We’re Looking For
We seek someone with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a technical foundation in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-focused, patient, and professional in all interactions.
- Problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach to learning and diagnosing issues.
- Comfortable presenting technical demos and working cross-functionally with sales and product teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field visits, trade shows, and customer trainings.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent four-year engineering degree.
- Entry-level to mid-entry level: typically 0–2 years’ experience preferred in test & measurement, instrumentation, or a closely related industry.
- Any programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) relevant to instrument automation or data analysis is a plus.
Logistics & Compensation
- Location: Newnan, GA — on-site expectation ~3 days/week.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Travel: Occasional travel (1–4 overnight stays).
- Salary: estimated $98,876 per year (source estimate). Actual pay will be set by Confidential Client and may vary based on experience and location.
