What You’ll Do

  • Deliver hardware and software product demonstrations that highlight technical features, capabilities, and real-world processes to prospective and existing customers.
  • Translate customer requirements into customer-focused applications and programs that meet or exceed specifications.
  • Partner with regional sales to recommend appropriate products and solutions aligned to customer application needs.
  • Prepare technical documentation, detailed specifications, and clear operating instructions to support quotations and customer use.
  • Create and deliver customer training programs tailored to varying skill levels.
  • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting to resolve customer issues and ensure successful implementations.
  • Analyze and optimize existing programs and applications to improve performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Take complex technical problems through root-cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and marketing teams to inform product development from concept through launch.
  • Maintain and grow technical skills through training, independent research, and mentoring from experienced Applications Engineers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately 6 months to 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, applications engineering, or a similar technical environment.
  • Mechanical engineering fundamentals and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Experience or exposure to CAD and CAM tools.
  • Basic understanding of CNC environments and related applications.
  • Experience with testing, quality assurance, and product support activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to small groups and customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively under direction.
  • Creative and analytical mindset with a drive to diagnose and solve problems.

Nice to Have

  • Prior hands-on technical support for hardware and software products.
  • Experience developing or optimizing programs/applications for customer demos or manufacturing.
  • Background working directly with sales, engineering, and marketing on product or customer projects.
  • Comfort working in a clean manufacturing or demo environment with exposure to production equipment.

  • Pay range: $34.50 - $37.00 / hour
  • Workplace: Fully onsite in North Kingstown, RI
  • Expected close date: Aug 26, 2026
