Job Summary
Confidential Client seeks an Application Engineer - IIoT to support product application, technical consulting, and project execution. In this entry-level role you will help internal and external customers, lead small technical projects, and drive product improvements by applying IIoT concepts and engineering best practices. The role emphasizes technical problem solving, customer-facing consulting, and continuous product and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive improved decision-making and provide executional engineering support for business needs.
- Lead small application engineering projects with basic project management oversight.
- Apply IIoT technologies and industry best practices to improve technical support delivery and product performance.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify product enhancement opportunities from customer feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose solutions.
- Document technical findings, write technical reports, and maintain knowledge transfer artifacts.
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders; ensure alignment with applicable industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information systems, or a closely related field.
- 0–3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related technical experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with 2D/3D drafting or modeling software (CAD) is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with emphasis on critical thinking and root cause analysis.
- Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for customer interactions and cross-functional teamwork.
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and openness to propose and lead follow-up improvement projects.
- Lean Yellow Belt preferred.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting and/or standing at a workstation.
- Ability to type, reach, grasp, and perform light physical tasks.
- Occasional travel (~15–20%) to meet clients or attend on-site activities (overnight travel as needed).
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and access typical industrial environments (reach, climb, crawl, walk).
- Ability to present and communicate effectively in person and virtually.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide product and application-based technical customer service via phone, email, and chat.
- Support product selection and installation guidance; recommend creative, cost-effective solutions.
- Work with product designers to ensure model/drawing accuracy and maintain BOMs/part numbers.
- Support cost reduction and lean/continuous improvement projects, including lab testing and qualification.
- Occasionally deliver on-site training, installation support, and diagnostic services.
- Regular attendance and reliable performance are essential to role success.
