What You’ll Do
The Application Engineer I is an entry-level, hands-on engineering role focused on supporting product applications, assisting customers and sales teams, and contributing to product testing and documentation. You will learn product capabilities and apply engineering fundamentals while working with cross-functional teams.
- Support customers and internal stakeholders with product application questions and basic technical guidance
- Assist with product selection, basic configuration, and application recommendations
- Troubleshoot application and performance issues under the direction of senior engineers
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product design, specifications, and performance characteristics
- Help with testing, evaluation, and validation of products in lab or customer environments
- Document application feedback, test data, and suggested product improvements
- Support sales during pre-sales and post-sales activities by preparing technical materials, proposals, and presentations
- Participate in customer meetings, demonstrations, and site visits as required
- Assist in preparing application notes, technical documentation, and training materials while maintaining accurate records of support activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
- 0–1 year of engineering, applications, or technical support experience (internships and co‑ops included)
- Fundamental understanding of engineering principles relevant to product applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn technical products and applications quickly
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD or other engineering tools is a plus
- Comfortable working independently with guidance and collaboratively as part of a team
- Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail
