Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Application Engineer (entry level) to support sales and business development activities for advanced conductor products used in high-voltage transmission systems. This role blends technical consultation, client-facing support, and hands-on collaboration with engineering and sales teams. Location: Hardeeville, SC (on-site with travel as required).

Estimated pay: $69,294 per year (estimated).


What You’ll Do

  • Support the sales team with technical insight to present and sell advanced conductor products to utilities and engineering firms.
  • Respond to client technical inquiries and explain product integration for high‑voltage transmission lines.
  • Prepare and assist in delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in client visits, industry conferences, and trade events as needed.
  • Work independently on assignments and collaborate with engineering and sales teams to meet project and business objectives.
  • Learn and apply power-transmission concepts (AC/DC transmission, sag‑tension analysis, thermal ratings) to support customer conversations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Internship or experience in energy, utilities, or engineering consulting preferred.
  • Familiarity or interest in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems and advanced materials (e.g., carbon-fiber products) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; effective public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment when needed and able to use required PPE.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.

Training & Tools

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical aptitude with desire to learn high-voltage transmission topics and advanced materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; experience with PLS‑CADD or similar transmission design tools is a plus.
  • Ongoing learning opportunities and on-the-job training to develop sales and technical skills.
