About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Analyst, Fund Accounting to support daily valuation and month-end reporting for large asset-owner plans (primarily Defined Contribution — 401(k) — and Defined Benefit / pension ERISA plans). This role is responsible for daily NAV valuation, reconciliations across mutual funds and separately managed accounts, auditing income postings and accruals, resolving exceptions, and assisting with client reporting (including 5500s). This position reports to senior fund accounting staff and works under direct supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Determine Net Asset Value (NAV) daily for assigned DC and DB plan investment options
- Evaluate and reconcile mutual funds, separately managed accounts, commingled and collective funds versus benchmarks for daily valuation
- Audit income postings, accruals, corporate actions and assess the effect of trading activity on portfolio option market values
- Research and resolve exceptions for cash, price variances, holdings and expense accruals in accordance with procedures and deadlines
- Assist with preparation of monthly and annual client reports and financial statements consistent with GAAP and performance standards
- Respond to partner and client inquiries and document exception resolutions
- Support annual client portfolio reporting and 5500 reporting
- Escalate complex issues to supervisors while using initiative on routine items
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting, finance and securities (coursework or prior related experience)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and meet client deadlines
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Power Suite is a plus
- U.S. work authorization required — this role does not offer employment-based visa sponsorship
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience or internship in fund accounting, mutual fund accounting, or reconciliation roles
- Experience with NAV valuation, mutual fund pricing, or ERISA plan reporting
- Exposure to client reporting and GAAP-based month-end close processes
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $41,040 - $61,560 USD (base pay).
This is a good-faith estimate of base pay. Confidential Client provides a comprehensive benefits package which may include retirement savings (401k and/or pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental/caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and additional voluntary and well-being benefits. A discretionary bonus program may be available.
