Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Analyst, Business Systems to join an IT team in North Chicago, IL to support R&D-focused initiatives in AI, automation, and RPA. This role works closely with R&D stakeholders, data specialists, and engineers to gather requirements, document workflows, evaluate automation opportunities, and help deliver practical solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making.


What You’ll Do

  • Support the FAiM / R&D technology team to identify and scope AI, automation, and RPA opportunities.
  • Learn business processes for Global Therapeutics Business Teams and collaborate with subject-matter experts.
  • Gather and translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and system documentation.
  • Map workflows, data flows, and system integrations to inform technical design and testing.
  • Help create and manage system change requests and implementation documentation.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, and product teams to align sprint schedules, priorities, and demonstrations.
  • Investigate system issues, analyze root causes, and propose data-driven resolutions.
  • Assist with basic automation or scripting tasks (e.g., Python scripts, API calls) and support RPA/workflow platform pilots.
  • Communicate progress and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, engineering, analytics, or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and communicate requirements clearly.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, project-based environment.

Preferred

  • Internship, academic project, co-op, or entry-level experience in business analysis, process improvement, data, automation, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, generative AI, machine learning concepts, or large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience with prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, or evaluation approaches.
  • Basic Python scripting for data manipulation, API calls, or automation.
  • Exposure to RPA or workflow automation platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate).
  • Experience with Agile methods, user story development, process mapping, and requirements management.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, APIs, and system integration concepts.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart.
  • Interest in regulated industries, life sciences, or healthcare.

Compensation & benefits
