About the role

Confidential Client is looking for motivated, detail-oriented entry-level Algorithmic Trading Analysts to join their Stamford, CT office. This is a hands-on, foundational role within an electronic trading organization where you'll work at the intersection of market structure, algorithmic execution, trading technology, and software development. You will collaborate closely with trading, quantitative, and engineering teams to help build and improve a global multi-asset algorithmic trading platform.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of market structure and electronic trading behavior across asset classes and regions.
  • Learn how algorithmic execution strategies, routing logic, and underlying trading systems operate.
  • Evaluate algorithm performance across clients and strategies using statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Test and support the trading product, including debugging and performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to product planning, prioritization, and cross-functional communication between trading, technology, and client teams.
  • Prepare clear communications and presentations for internal stakeholders and client-facing interactions.
  • Build domain expertise in global equities and futures market structure and regional trading differences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Python or R and SQL.
  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive attitude with strong ownership and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Willingness to work in person daily in our office in Stamford, CT.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior coursework or internship experience in electronic trading, market microstructure, or transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., matplotlib, Plotly) and basic software testing practices.
  • Exposure to C++, cloud infrastructure, or production trading systems.

Compensation (Estimated)

  • Estimated base salary: $112,594 per year (estimate provided by job listing data)
