  • Develop, test, document, and improve components of AI-enabled applications, prototypes, and reusable technical solutions
  • Implement user-interface components with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, etc.)
  • Build backend services, APIs, and application logic using Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django
  • Integrate approved generative AI models and APIs into applications; contribute to RAG, enterprise search, intelligent assistants, and workflow automations
  • Connect application components to AI services, databases, and enterprise data sources
  • Prepare, transform, validate, and integrate data consumed by AI-enabled solutions
  • Create unit and functional tests; participate in code review and follow established source-control and CI/CD practices
  • Troubleshoot integration, configuration, deployment, and model-integration issues
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, test evidence, and deployment instructions
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, AI/ML specialists, designers, analysts, and client teams
  • Follow responsible AI, privacy, security, accessibility, and human-centered development practices
  • Communicate progress, technical risks, and blockers; incorporate feedback from senior engineers and managers

Skills & Experience (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of related professional experience (software, data, AI, analytics, or automation)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret trust clearance or higher
  • Practical coding experience with Python and familiarity with a backend framework such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
  • Experience with or exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern front-end framework (React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, Svelte)
  • Familiarity with generative AI models, model APIs, large language model (LLM) applications, or approved open-source AI frameworks
  • Working knowledge of APIs, system integrations, SQL/databases, data ingestion/transformation, and data-quality concepts
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and application deployment (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or comparable)
  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals: source control, testing, code review, documentation, and deployment processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams
  • Comfortable working in-person as needed (role expects approximately 60% in-person engagement)
  • Ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate technical status clearly

Nice to Have (Preferred)

  • Hands-on experience building a generative AI proof-of-concept, prototype, or production web application
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and enterprise-search solutions
  • Experience with Azure AI services / Azure OpenAI Service, Amazon Bedrock, or comparable platforms
  • Experience with modern stacks such as React + Next.js and FastAPI
  • Knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, application monitoring, and infrastructure automation
  • Familiarity with model evaluation, open-source LLMs, agent-based applications, or AI-enabled workflows
  • Experience delivering solutions for government clients or in environments requiring formal security and documentation processes
  • Relevant cloud, AI, or software development certifications
