About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level AI Software Engineer to help build the next generation of enterprise productivity tools. You will design, build, and ship AI agents and automation solutions that help internal teams (finance, sales, operations, and others) work faster and smarter. This is a hands-on builder role for candidates who enjoy shipping small, iterative solutions and learning on the job.

Please note: candidates MUST BE LOCATED IN HOUSTON, TX.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and deploy AI agents, chatbots, and automation tools for internal users.
  • Partner with non-technical teams to understand workflows and translate pain points into AI-powered solutions.
  • Work with the current AI stack (including Anthropic Claude and Databricks) and experiment with new tools and frameworks as needed.
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agentic workflows where appropriate.
  • Iterate quickly based on user feedback — ship, measure, and improve.
  • Document your work and share learnings with the broader team.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be located in Houston, TX.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (per the position's baseline requirement).
  • Solid programming fundamentals — Python preferred, or similar language relevant to AI development.
  • Hands-on familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, or AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Practical understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, or agentic frameworks (self-taught experience is fine).
  • Self-directed learner who picks up new platforms and APIs quickly.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating vague problems into concrete, testable solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with non-engineering stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Anthropic Claude, Databricks, LangFlow, or similar platforms.
  • Built and shipped an AI project (chatbot, automation, agent, or tool powered by a language model).
  • Contributions to open-source AI projects or a public portfolio/GitHub demonstrating relevant work.
  • Demonstrated impact from projects — shareable examples are encouraged.
