AI Software Engineer
The AI Software Engineer at Confidential Client is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven software solutions to support petroleum engineering, exploration, and training activities. This hybrid role involves building machine learning and neural network models, implementing pattern recognition and NLP techniques, and collaborating with domain experts to create scalable, reliable AI tools aligned with business needs.

What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and productionize AI/ML components and software that solve real-world problems in the energy consulting domain.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and domain experts to turn data into reliable models and services.
- Write clean, maintainable code and automated tests; participate in code reviews and maintain CI/CD standards.
- Build and maintain model training pipelines, data validation, and monitoring for model performance in production.
- Integrate models into scalable services, APIs, or analytics workflows and support lifecycle operations (retraining, rollback, observability).
- Communicate technical trade-offs and deliverables clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with significant exposure to machine learning or AI projects (industry or research).
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience writing production-quality code.
- Hands-on experience with model evaluation, validation, and deployment in production environments.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, version control (Git), testing, and debugging distributed systems.
- Good problem solving, systems thinking, and ability to work independently as well as in teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an emphasis on delivering measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and common ML tooling.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services for compute/storage (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Background in MLOps, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or consulting sector is helpful but not required.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, ML, Statistics, or related field is a plus.
