Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an AI Product Specialist to build, tune, test, and document conversational AI agents using a proprietary AI agent platform. This is an entry-level, hands-on technical role with two weeks of intensive training, then day-to-day responsibility for prompt engineering, conversational flow design, QA/testing, and delivering product feedback. The role is a strong launchpad into product, engineering, or customer-facing technical roles after 1–2 years.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the design and refinement of voice prompts and conversational flows for AI Agents to deliver natural, brand-aligned interactions.
  • Build agents on the Confidential Client platform using prompt engineering best practices and platform tooling.
  • Tune agent settings and providers (STT, TTS, LLM) to meet quality and business objectives.
  • Create lightweight code/functions to extend agent capabilities (e.g., validate ZIP, schedule callback, update profile).
  • Develop and run QA test cases; build or improve tooling to scale QA and ensure agents meet internal and client quality standards.
  • Review customer artifacts (call recordings, scripts, knowledge bases, brand guides) to inform agent design.
  • Partner with forward-deployed engineers and product teams to iterate on agent performance and deliver product feedback.
  • Support sales demos by building MVP agents during the sales process.
  • Codify and share prompt engineering and conversational best practices for internal teams.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science) or equivalent hands-on experience with prompt engineering or conversational design.
  • 0–2 years of professional or internship experience at startups, tech teams, or demonstrable personal/school projects.
  • Strong curiosity about AI and voice technologies; hands-on experimentation with prompt engineering or conversational design preferred.
  • Analytical problem-solver who breaks down problems and iterates quickly.
  • Good time-management and communication skills; able to prioritize and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Relentless ownership mentality and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in AI product, engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans (company covers a significant portion).
  • Flexible PTO and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) plan and paid parental leave.
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits.
  • In-office breakfast, snacks, happy hours, team outings, and annual off-sites.
  • Company-provided laptop and full workstation.
  • Competitive equity package; some offers may include variable compensation.

Location & Schedule

This position is based in New York City (HQ — NoMad). The role is hybrid with an in-office requirement on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and the option to work more days onsite as desired.
