Summary

Confidential Client is seeking an AI/ML Engineer / Data Scientist to design and deliver production-grade AI solutions focused on large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, and Azure AI services. You will work with cross-functional teams to build scalable APIs and microservices, integrate vector databases and search, and productionize models using Python and modern MLOps patterns.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and deploy LLM-based applications and RAG architectures for real-world usage.
• Integrate vector search and vector databases to enable semantic retrieval and similarity search.
• Implement solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI Search.
• Develop Python services, APIs, and microservices; follow best practices for Git, CI/CD, and code review.
• Prototype and productionize LLM agents and LangChain-based pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to ingest and prepare data from relational and cloud data platforms.
• Apply scalable system design patterns to ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and implementation plans clearly to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or a closely related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python as a core development language.
• Practical experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain), RAG architectures, and vector search concepts.
• Experience using Azure Databricks or similar data platforms and with Azure AI ecosystem (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search).
• Understanding of APIs, microservices, scalable system design, and production deployment patterns.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing agent workflows or multi-step LLM orchestration.
• Hands-on work with specific vector databases or vector search services.
• Background in cloud-native architectures and containerized deployments.
• Prior experience working in regulated or safety-conscious industries (advantageous given confidential client’s sector).
