The Opportunity

Confidential Client seeks an AI Governance Experienced Associate to join their IT team in Chicago, IL. In this role you will support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, help assess governance/risk/control activities, gather requirements, document controls and processes, and translate findings for stakeholders. This is a hands-on role that offers exposure to AI governance practices and the chance to help implement practical, scalable governance improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Navigate complex regulatory landscapes and provide practical advice for clients.
• Confirm regulatory compliance and help manage organizational risk.
• Support design and assessment of AI governance models, policies, standards, and control programs.
• Gather requirements, document processes and controls, and synthesize findings for stakeholders.
• Assist in audit, testing, validation, and controls assessment for AI/ML systems.
• Translate technical AI concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to diverse client needs.
• Take ownership of assigned work and consistently deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• At least a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to varied audiences.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Preferred / Distinguishing Skills

• Academic background in Accounting, Business, Computer Science/Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, or Project/Technology Management.
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML governance, risk, controls, audit, testing, or validation.
• Familiarity with AI lifecycle concepts and leading risk frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
• Practical experience supporting the design or assessment of governance programs and control frameworks.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to connect technical work to business outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $63,000 - $141,500 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
• Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
• Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave (actual offerings may vary by location).
