Position overview

This role is for an AI Engineer focused on infrastructure for a confidential client in the IT industry. You will join a small AI team building tools that help underwriting and operations — deploying, running, and securing the systems that AI applications rely on, while also contributing to application and data work.

What You’ll Do

• Deploy, operate, and secure production systems that support AI applications and model serving
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines and integrations with underwriting systems
• Implement monitoring, testing, and reliability controls for applications and models
• Containerize and automate deployments (Docker, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
• Work directly with underwriters and operations staff to adapt tools to real business needs
• Collaborate with senior AI engineers; receive feedback and grow technical skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 0–4 years of professional experience (includes internships and co-ops)
• Strong Python skills and working knowledge of SQL
• Comfortable using Linux and the command line
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• A portfolio or examples of work you built and can demonstrate (see examples below)
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical colleagues
• Curiosity about how the business operates and willingness to learn industry specifics from subject-matter experts

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience instrumenting observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

• Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year (varies with experience)
