Overview
Confidential Client seeks an Associate-level AI Engineer / Data Scientist to join their AI Engineering team within the Digital Assurance & Technology practice. In this role you will design, build, test, and evaluate AI systems that turn raw data into actionable insights. You will support client engagements by implementing scalable machine learning solutions, performing complex data analysis, and developing reusable tools and tests that advance responsible AI deployment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI systems to transform raw data into actionable insights
- Develop and deploy machine learning models to support client decision-making
- Integrate AI solutions with existing data infrastructure alongside cross-functional teams
- Perform complex data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and business signals
- Write production-quality code (primarily Python) to build scalable AI applications
- Preprocess and wrangle datasets; apply data modeling techniques to improve quality and integration
- Build and maintain relational database solutions for efficient storage and retrieval
- Support design and execution of tests for AI behavior, performance, robustness, bias, explainability, and failure modes
- Evaluate technical controls and evidence; document findings, limitations, and recommendations clearly
- Develop reusable evaluation tools, automated tests, reference datasets, monitoring capabilities, and evidence workflows
- Communicate technical outcomes and translate findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Continuously learn new AI technologies and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams
What You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Minimum 1 year professional experience working with data, analytics, or machine learning
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with common ML libraries and workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
Preferred / What Sets You Apart
- Degree or coursework in Analytics/Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Robotics, Computer Science/Information Systems, or Engineering
- Experience in building and deploying ML models to production environments
- Hands-on experience with data wrangling, feature engineering, and data modeling
- Knowledge of testing methodologies for AI systems (robustness, bias, drift, explainability)
- Experience developing automated tests, monitoring, or evaluation tooling for ML systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical results to non-technical audiences
Travel & Compensation
- Travel: Up to 20%
- Salary range: $63,000 - $141,500. Actual compensation within this range will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and in accordance with applicable employment laws. Eligible employees may also be eligible for discretionary annual bonus and benefits.
