Position Summary

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an AI Engineer / Data Scientist (Experienced Associate) to join an AI Engineering team focused on building and deploying scalable AI-powered solutions. This role is based in Grand Central, NY and supports cross-functional delivery of machine learning models and software systems that drive business outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement AI systems that transform raw data into actionable insights for clients.
• Develop scalable machine learning models to support decision-making and product features.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, backend/frontend developers, and product teams to integrate AI into platforms.
• Perform data wrangling and preprocessing to prepare datasets for modeling and evaluation.
• Apply advanced algorithms and methods to improve model performance and reliability.
• Build and deploy software systems that leverage AI and machine learning at scale.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for business impact.
• Support client engagements by delivering quality engineering work and adapting to varying project requirements.
• Participate in continuous learning to expand technical skills in AI engineering and related areas.
• Maintain professional and technical standards while contributing positively to the team.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in AI/ML, data science, or related engineering roles.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Degree emphasis in Analytics/Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Robotics, Computer Science/Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Certifications or demonstrated experience with data engineering, machine learning, and cloud platforms (for example: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Proven experience implementing machine learning solutions and integrating models into software systems.
• Strong client-facing or consulting experience in fast-paced environments and an ability to adapt to varied client needs.
• Demonstrated analytical ability and a track record of delivering high-quality, repeatable work.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $63,000 - $141,500 per year (USD). Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, location, and applicable employment laws.
• Eligible employees may be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
• Confidential Client provides a benefits package that typically includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings (401k), paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and other programs — specifics will depend on the client’s benefit policies and the employee’s location.
