Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an AI-Enabled Solution Architect — Capture & Proposal Support (Entry-Level Architect) to support pre-award capture and proposal efforts for Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities. This remote (CONUS) role focuses on leveraging enterprise and commercial AI tools to shape compliant, competitive solution concepts and produce proposal-ready artifacts. This position reports to the Lead Solution Architect and operates as a shared resource across capture teams. This is a pre-award role with no direct post-award execution responsibility.

What You’ll Do

• Support DoD capture and proposal efforts by developing concept-level technical solutions that respond to solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria under the guidance of the Lead Solution Architect.
• Translate customer requirements and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits tables, compliance mappings, discriminators).
• Create and refine high-level solution architectures, workflows, and reusable patterns focused on clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation.
• Draft and iterate content for technical and management volumes that demonstrates how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
• Use internal enterprise AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI) and commercial tools (e.g., Claude) to analyze RFPs/RFIs, generate and refine solution narratives, and accelerate content development.
• Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns and AI workflows that improve speed and output quality.
• Apply prompt-engineering best practices to guide AI tools toward accurate, relevant, and compliant outputs; curate AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence and alignment with capture strategy.
• Support color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) by rapidly iterating and refining solution narratives and artifacts based on reviewer feedback.
• Collaborate closely with capture managers, proposal managers, technical SMEs, operations/program managers, and the Lead Solution Architect.
• Serve as an advocate for safe, secure, and compliant AI use in capture/proposal activities, including coaching colleagues and documenting lessons learned.

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years supporting DoD or equivalent government mission-support environments.
• Strong domain knowledge of DoD missions, operational context, and typical solution constructs (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training/simulation, C5ISR, or similar).
• Familiarity with federal proposal structure, technical and management volume constructs, and evaluation criteria.
• Demonstrated proficiency with commercial AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for analysis, drafting, and solution exploration.
• Experience designing and applying effective AI prompts and repeatable prompt patterns.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input into coherent solution narratives.
• Excellent written communication skills for formal, customer-facing proposal content.
• Ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines on multiple concurrent pursuits.
• High attention to detail to ensure compliance, consistency, and traceability from requirements to solution features.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain/maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
• Willingness to support proposal surge periods and non-standard hours as necessary.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
• Familiarity with enterprise or government-specific AI platforms (ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI, or equivalent).
• Conceptual knowledge of generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-assisted analytics from an architectural perspective.
• Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley-based methods, gated reviews, color teams).
• Prior collaboration across technical SMEs, program managers, and business development teams.

Working conditions

• Location: Remote within CONUS; occasional travel (<20%) for in-person workshops, proposal orals, or team sessions.
• Employment type: Full-time (pre-award capture/proposal focus).
• Schedule: Must support proposal timelines, including surge periods and non-standard hours to meet submission deadlines.
• Reports to: Lead Solution Architect; works as a shared resource across multiple capture teams.

Compensation & benefits

• Base salary (estimated): $140,000 per year.
