Key Responsibilities

  • Support live Department of War (DoW) capture and proposal efforts by developing concept-level, solicitation-responsive technical solutions under the guidance of the Lead Solution Architect.
  • Translate customer requirements, capability narratives, and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, compliance mappings, features/benefits, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis and content generation.
  • Create and refine reusable solution architectures, workflows, and patterns that emphasize compliance, clarity, and competitive differentiation.
  • Draft and refine content for technical and management volumes to clearly explain how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
  • Use internal enterprise AI platforms (e.g., secure/government AI) and commercial tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT variants) to analyze RFPs/RFIs, identify risks/opportunities, and generate solution concepts and narratives.
  • Develop repeatable prompt patterns, AI workflows, and prompt-engineering techniques to improve speed, consistency, and output quality.
  • Curate, validate, and align AI-generated content with capture strategy and Lead Solution Architect direction; ensure technical coherence and compliance.
  • Support color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold) by iterating solution narratives and artifacts rapidly based on reviewer feedback.
  • Work closely with capture managers, proposal managers, technical SMEs, operations/program managers, and other stakeholders as a shared resource across multiple pursuits.
  • Advocate for safe, secure, and compliant use of AI in capture/proposal activities; document lessons learned and coach colleagues on effective AI-assisted practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting DoW or comparable government mission support environments.
  • Strong domain knowledge of defense mission areas and solution constructs (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, or similar).
  • Familiarity with federal proposal structure and content, including technical and management volumes and common evaluation criteria.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with commercial AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) used for analysis, drafting, and solution exploration.
  • Experience designing effective prompts and repeatable prompt patterns to produce consistent, high-quality AI outputs.
  • Strong analytical skills: rapidly assimilate RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input into coherent solution narratives.
  • Excellent written communication skills for structured, customer-facing proposal content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines across multiple concurrent pursuits.
  • High attention to detail to ensure compliance, consistency, and traceability from requirements to solution features.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
  • Willingness to support proposal surge periods and non-standard hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
  • Familiarity with enterprise/secure AI environments (e.g., government-specific platforms such as ChatGPT.gov or equivalent).
  • Conceptual exposure to generative AI patterns (RAG, prompt engineering, AI-assisted analytics) from an architectural perspective.
  • Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley-style methods, gated reviews).
  • Prior collaboration with cross-functional teams of SMEs, program managers, and BD professionals.

Working Conditions

  • Remote within CONUS (candidate must be located in the Continental U.S.). Occasional travel (<20%) may be required for in-person working sessions, workshops, or proposal orals.
  • Standard full-time schedule with flexibility required during proposal surge periods and submission deadlines.
  • This is a pre-award (capture/proposal) role with no direct post-award execution responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $140,000 per year (good-faith estimate).
  • Benefits include:
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • Paid time off and holidays
    • Retirement benefits (including 401(k) matching)
    • Educational reimbursement
    • Parental leave
    • Employee stock purchase plan (where applicable)
    • Disability and life insurance
    • Pet insurance
  • Note: Benefits may vary by employment type, location, and applicable agreements (including CBAs or SCA-governed roles).

Why This Role Matters

  • This entry-level architecture role expands the organization’s ability to provide strong, AI-enabled solutioning for smaller and mid-sized DoW pursuits that otherwise may lack dedicated solution architect support. By combining capture expertise with AI-driven workflows, the role helps raise proposal quality, consistency, and innovation—directly supporting higher Probability of Win (PWin) across a broad portfolio.
