What You’ll Do

This entry-level AI-enabled Solution Architect supports pre-award capture and proposal efforts for Department of War (DoW) pursuits as a shared resource across capture teams. You will use enterprise and commercial AI tools to shape technically compliant, competitive solution concepts and translate them into proposal-ready artifacts that support win themes and evaluation criteria.

  • Support live DoW captures and proposals by developing concept-level technical solutions that respond to solicitation requirements, evaluation criteria, and customer constraints.
  • Translate requirements, capabilities narratives, and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits tables, compliance matrices, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis and drafting.
  • Create and refine reusable solution architectures, workflows, and design patterns focused on clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation.
  • Draft and edit technical and management volume content that demonstrates how the proposed solution meets mission needs, reduces risk, and delivers measurable value.
  • Rapidly iterate solution narratives and artifacts during color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold) to incorporate reviewer feedback and evolving capture strategy.

AI-Enabled Solutioning & Tools

You will use internal enterprise AI platforms and commercial tools to accelerate solution development while ensuring outputs are accurate, defensible, and compliant.

  • Use internal AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI) and commercial models (e.g., Claude) to analyze RFPs/RFIs, identify requirements/risks/opportunities, and generate solution concepts.
  • Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns, AI workflows, and prompt-engineering best practices to improve speed and quality of outputs.
  • Curate, validate, and organize AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence and alignment with capture strategy and Lead Solution Architect direction.
  • Apply sound prompt-engineering and quality assurance practices with attention to data protection and defense-specific constraints.

How This Supports PWin (Probability of Win)

  • Align AI-enabled solution concepts to win themes, strengths, and discriminators developed by capture leadership.
  • Identify AI-assisted insights or innovations that can be incorporated into proposals to improve competitiveness.
  • Provide rapid, high-quality artifacts to support proposal reviews and strengthen evaluation-area narratives.

Collaboration & Stakeholders

You will work closely with capture and proposal leadership and cross-functional SMEs:

  • Lead Solution Architect (primary supervisor and mentor)
  • Capture managers and proposal managers
  • Technical SMEs, engineering leads, operations and program managers

Operate as a shared resource across multiple pursuits, balancing workload and priorities as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years supporting DoW or comparable government mission support environments.
  • Strong domain knowledge of defense mission areas and solution constructs (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, or similar).
  • Familiarity with federal proposal structure, technical/management volumes, compliance mapping, and evaluation criteria.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with commercial AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for professional tasks: analysis, drafting, solution exploration, and refinement.
  • Experience designing effective prompts and repeatable prompt patterns that produce consistent, high-quality outputs.
  • Excellent written communication and strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize RFP requirements into coherent solution narratives.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment across multiple concurrent pursuits.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • U.S. citizenship required and eligibility to obtain/maintain a security clearance as needed by assigned projects.
  • Must be available for proposal surge periods and occasional non-standard hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or another related field.
  • Familiarity with enterprise or government-specific AI platforms (ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI, etc.).
  • Conceptual knowledge of generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted analytics.
  • Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley, gated reviews, color teams).
  • Experience collaborating effectively with technical SMEs, program managers, and business development teams.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Remote within CONUS; occasional travel (<20%) for in-person workshops, capture sessions, or proposal orals may be required.
  • Schedule: Must support proposal timelines, including surge periods and non-standard hours as needed.
  • Reporting: Reports to the Lead Solution Architect; operates as a shared capture/proposal resource.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary (good-faith estimate): $140,000 per year.
  • Benefits may include health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, employee stock purchase, disability and life insurance, and other offerings (may vary by location and employment type).

Why This Role Matters

This role increases organizational capacity to support mid-sized and smaller but technically complex DoW pursuits that require strong solution shaping. By applying AI to capture and proposal solutioning, this position improves consistency, innovation, and ultimately increases Probability of Win across the client’s pursuit portfolio.
