Role Summary

This posting describes an AI-Enabled Solution Architect (Capture & Proposal Support) role supporting pre-award capture and proposal activities for federal defense opportunities. The position is a remote (CONUS) role serving as a shared resource across capture teams to shape AI-enabled, compliant, and competitive solution content and proposal artifacts. The employer is listed as Confidential Client. This role focuses on using internal and commercial AI tools to accelerate solution development and improve Probability of Win (PWin).

Key Responsibilities

• Support live DoD captures and proposals by developing concept-level technical solutions that respond to solicitation requirements, evaluation criteria, and customer constraints under the direction of the Lead Solution Architect.
• Translate customer requirements, capabilities narratives, and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (e.g., solution descriptions, features/benefits tables, compliance mappings, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis and content generation.
• Create and refine reusable solution architectures, workflows, and patterns that emphasize clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation (conceptual level rather than detailed implementation).
• Draft and refine technical and management volume content to clearly demonstrate how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
• Use internal enterprise AI platforms (e.g., secure/government AI environments) and commercial tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to analyze RFPs/RFIs, generate solution narratives, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns and AI workflows to improve speed and quality of solution development.
• Apply prompt-engineering best practices to steer AI outputs toward accurate, relevant, and compliant content appropriate for federal defense proposals.
• Curate and organize AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence, compliance with capture strategy, and alignment with the Lead Solution Architect’s direction.
• Support color team reviews (e.g., Pink, Red, Gold) by rapidly iterating and refining solution narratives and artifacts based on reviewer feedback.
• Collaborate with capture managers, proposal managers, SMEs, engineering leads, and operations/program managers to align solution content to win themes and program realism.
• Act as an advocate for the safe and effective use of AI in capture and proposal work; coach team members on AI use cases, limitations, and oversight best practices.
• Participate in AI pilots and document lessons learned and recommended practices for secure, compliant AI use.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) missions or similar government mission-support environments.
• Strong understanding of defense mission contexts and common solution constructs (systems integration, logistics & sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, or similar).
• Familiarity with federal proposal structure and content (technical and management volumes, evaluation criteria, compliance mapping).
• Demonstrated proficiency using commercial AI products for professional tasks (e.g., analysis, drafting, content refinement) and experience designing effective prompts and repeatable prompt patterns.
• Strong analytical ability to assimilate RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input and synthesize them into coherent solution narratives.
• Excellent written communication skills for formal, structured, customer-facing proposal content.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment supporting multiple concurrent pursuits.
• High attention to detail to ensure compliance, consistency, and traceability from requirements to solution features.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
• Availability to support proposal schedules including surge periods and non-standard hours to meet submission deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
• Familiarity with enterprise or government-specific AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI).
• Conceptual knowledge of generative AI patterns (RAG, prompt engineering, AI-assisted analytics) from an architectural standpoint.
• Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley, gated reviews, color teams).
• Demonstrated history of collaborating with cross-functional capture/proposal teams including technical SMEs and program managers.

Working Conditions & Location

• Remote within CONUS (telecommute). Occasional travel (<20%) may be required for in-person team sessions, workshops, or proposal orals.
• Reports to the Lead Solution Architect and functions as a shared resource across multiple pursuits.
• Must support proposal timelines including surge periods and non-standard hours when necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary (good-faith estimate): $140,000 per year.
