Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level AI-Enabled Solution Architect to support capture and proposal efforts for defense-focused opportunities. This pre-award role uses AI-assisted workflows and prompt-engineering practices to develop compliant, customer-focused solution narratives and proposal artifacts. The position is remote within CONUS and reports to the Lead Solution Architect as a shared resource across multiple pursuits.

What You’ll Do

• Support live DoD/defense captures and proposals by developing concept-level technical solutions that respond to solicitation requirements, evaluation criteria, and customer constraints under the Lead Solution Architect’s guidance.
• Translate customer requirements, technical baselines, and capabilities narratives into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits, compliance mappings, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis and content generation.
• Create and refine reusable solution architectures, workflows, and patterns that emphasize clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation.
• Draft and refine sections of technical and management volumes to describe how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
• Use internal enterprise and commercial AI platforms to analyze RFPs/RFIs, generate and iterate solution concepts, and accelerate content development.
• Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns and AI workflows to improve speed, consistency, and output quality.
• Apply prompt-engineering best practices to guide AI tools toward accurate, relevant, and compliant outputs focused on defense missions.
• Curate and organize AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence and alignment with capture strategy.
• Support color team reviews (e.g., Pink, Red, Gold) by rapidly iterating solution narratives and artifacts based on reviewer feedback.
• Act as an advocate and coach for the safe, responsible, and effective use of AI in capture and proposal activities.

Collaboration & Stakeholders

• Work closely with the Lead Solution Architect (primary supervisor and mentor).
• Partner with capture managers to align solution concepts to win themes and discriminators.
• Coordinate with proposal managers on structure, compliance, and schedules.
• Engage technical SMEs, engineering leads, operations/program managers, and business development stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and operational realism.
• Operate as a shared resource across multiple pursuits and balance priorities per leadership direction.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years supporting defense/DoW (DoD) missions or government mission-support environments.
• Strong domain knowledge of defense mission areas and common solution constructs (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training/simulation, C5ISR, etc.).
• Familiarity with federal proposal structure (technical and management volumes, evaluation criteria, color team reviews).
• Demonstrated proficiency using commercial AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for analysis, drafting, and solution exploration.
• Experience designing effective AI prompts and repeatable prompt patterns for consistent, high-quality outputs.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input into coherent solution narratives.
• Excellent written communication skills for formal, structured, customer-facing proposal content.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent pursuits.
• High attention to detail, ensuring compliance, consistency, and traceability from requirements to solution features.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
• Must be able to support proposal timelines, including surge periods and non-standard hours when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, AI/data, business, or a defense-related discipline.
• Familiarity with enterprise or government AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI) and secure AI environments.
• Exposure to AI concepts from an architectural perspective (generative AI, RAG, prompt engineering, AI-assisted analytics).
• Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley methods, gated reviews).
• Prior collaboration with cross-functional capture/proposal teams including SMEs, program managers, and business development.

Working Conditions

• Location: Remote within CONUS; occasional travel (<20%) for in-person working sessions, workshops, or proposal orals may be required.
• Schedule: Must support proposal timelines and surge periods; non-standard hours possible to meet submission deadlines.
• Reporting: Reports to the Lead Solution Architect; serves as a shared resource supporting multiple capture/proposal teams.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $140,000 (good-faith estimate; final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and applicable laws).
