Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an AI-Enabled Solution Architect (entry-level architect for capture & proposal support) to join capture and proposal teams supporting Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities. This is a pre-award role focused on shaping compliant, competitive technical solutions using enterprise and commercial AI tools. The role is remote within CONUS with occasional travel (<20%) and requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support DoD capture and proposal efforts by developing concept-level solution architectures that map to solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Translate customer requirements and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits, compliance matrices, discriminators).
- Use internal enterprise AI platforms and commercial LLM tools to analyze RFPs/RFIs, generate solution concepts, and draft proposal content.
- Create and maintain repeatable prompt patterns, AI workflows, and prompt-engineering best practices to improve speed and output quality.
- Contribute content to technical and management volumes—focusing on mission alignment, risk reduction, and measurable value—under the Lead Solution Architect’s guidance.
- Rapidly iterate solution artifacts during color-team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold), incorporating reviewer feedback and capture strategy.
- Serve as a shared resource across multiple pursuits, balancing priorities to meet submission schedules and surge demands.
- Advocate for safe, compliant, and secure use of AI across capture/proposal activities; document lessons learned and coach teammates on practical AI usage.
- Curate AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence, compliance, and traceability from requirements to solution features.
What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 10 years of experience supporting DoD or equivalent government mission-support environments.
- Strong domain knowledge of defense mission areas (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, or similar).
- Demonstrated proficiency with commercial AI products (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for professional analysis, drafting, and solution exploration.
- Experience designing effective AI prompts and repeatable prompt patterns that yield consistent, high-quality outputs.
- Excellent written communication skills for formal, structured, customer-facing proposal content.
- Strong analytical ability to rapidly synthesize RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input into coherent solution narratives.
- High attention to detail and a compliance-first mindset when mapping requirements to proposed solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance (level TBD).
- Availability for surge periods and non-standard hours as needed to meet proposal deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
- Familiarity with enterprise/secure AI platforms (e.g., government-specific instances such as ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI, or equivalents).
- Conceptual familiarity with generative AI techniques, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI-assisted analytics from an architectural perspective.
- Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley methods, gated reviews, color teams).
- Track record collaborating with cross-functional teams of SMEs, program managers, and BD professionals.
Working Conditions & Location
- Remote within CONUS; occasional travel (<20%) for in-person workshops, team sessions, or proposal orals.
- Pre-award role only (capture/proposal). No post-award execution responsibilities.
- Reports to the Lead Solution Architect and operates as a shared resource supporting multiple capture teams.
- Must support proposal timelines including surge periods and non-standard hours.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $140,000 (good-faith estimate; final offer may vary based on experience, location, and other factors).
- Benefits may include:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and holidays

- Pet insurance (where applicable)
- Note: Benefits and terms may vary by employment type, location, and applicable agreements (e.g., CBA, SCA).
Why This Role Matters
This role expands organizational capacity to support smaller and mid-sized DoD pursuits that require high-quality solutioning but may have previously lacked dedicated architecture resources. By leveraging AI to accelerate and standardize solution development, the role helps increase the Probability of Win (PWin) across a broader portfolio of opportunities.
