Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an AI-Enabled Solution Architect to support capture and proposal development for Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities. This remote (CONUS) entry-level architect role focuses on using AI-driven tools and repeatable prompt patterns to shape compliant, compelling technical solutions and produce proposal-ready artifacts that increase Probability of Win (PWin). The primary keyword for this posting is: AI-Enabled Solution Architect (Remote).

What You’ll Do

  • Support live DoD captures and pre-award proposal efforts by developing concept-level technical solutions aligned to solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Translate requirements, technical baselines, and customer narratives into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits, compliance matrices, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis.
  • Create and refine solution architectures, workflows, and reusable patterns that prioritize clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation.
  • Draft and edit technical and management volume content that explains how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
  • Rapidly iterate solution narratives for color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold) using AI tools and reviewer feedback to align with capture strategy.
  • Maintain traceability from requirements to solution features to ensure compliance and evaluation defensibility.

AI-Enabled Solutioning & Tools

  • Use enterprise and commercial AI platforms (e.g., secure enterprise models, ChatGPT-like environments, Claude, retrieval-augmented generation tools) to:
    • Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and related documents to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities.
    • Generate and refine solution concepts, narratives, and supporting materials.
  • Develop, document, and reuse effective prompt patterns and AI workflows to improve speed and output consistency.
  • Apply prompt-engineering best practices and human-in-the-loop QA to guide AI toward accurate, compliant outputs for defense-focused proposals.
  • Curate, sanitize, and organize AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence and alignment with capture strategy.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with the Lead Solution Architect (primary supervisor), capture managers, proposal managers, technical SMEs, and operations/program managers.
  • Operate as a shared resource across multiple pursuits, balancing priorities and surge demands as directed by capture/proposal leadership.
  • Advocate for safe, secure, and effective AI use in capture and proposal activities; coach colleagues on appropriate AI use-cases and limitations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years supporting DoD or defense-related mission support environments or demonstrable equivalent experience in defense solutioning.
  • Strong familiarity with federal proposal structure (technical and management volumes), evaluation criteria, and compliance expectations.
  • Practical experience using commercial AI products (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for professional analysis, drafting, and solution exploration.
  • Demonstrated ability to design effective prompts and repeatable prompt patterns that produce high-quality outputs.
  • Excellent written communication skills for formal, structured, customer-facing proposal content.
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure requirements traceability and compliance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
  • Ability to support proposal schedules including surge periods and non-standard hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
  • Familiarity with secure or enterprise-grade AI platforms (e.g., government-specific AI environments).
  • Conceptual knowledge of generative AI, RAG, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted analytics.
  • Experience with formal capture and proposal processes (Shipley methodology, gated reviews, color teams).
  • Prior collaboration with cross-functional capture teams including SMEs, program managers, and BD professionals.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Remote within CONUS (occasional travel <20% for in-person sessions, workshops, or proposal orals).
  • Schedule: Must support proposal timelines and surge periods (may include non-standard hours).
  • Reporting: Reports to the Lead Solution Architect; functions as a shared resource across multiple pursuits.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation: $140,000 (provided as a good-faith estimate; final offer depends on experience, skills, internal equity, and applicable laws).
  • Benefits may include:
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • Paid time off and holidays
    • Retirement benefits (401(k) matching where applicable)
    • Educational reimbursement
    • Parental leave and other leave benefits
    • Disability and life insurance
    • Employee stock purchase plan and tax-advantaged options
    • Pet insurance
  • Note: Benefits vary by employment type, location, and applicable agreements (CBAs, SCA, etc.).
