Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an AI-Enabled Solution Architect (Entry-Level Architect for Capture & Proposal Support) to support pre-award capture and proposal activities. This role uses enterprise and commercial AI tools to shape compliant, compelling technical solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) pursuits. The position is pre-award only (capture/proposal) and serves as a shared resource across multiple pursuits.
What You’ll Do
- Support live DoD captures and proposals by developing concept-level technical solutions that respond to solicitation requirements, evaluation criteria, and customer constraints under the guidance of the Lead Solution Architect.
- Translate customer requirements, technical baselines, and capability narratives into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits tables, compliance mappings, discriminators).
- Draft and refine technical and management volume content that demonstrates how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
- Create reusable solution architectures, workflows, and design patterns aimed at clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation (not detailed implementation).
- Use internal enterprise AI platforms and commercial AI tools to analyze RFPs/RFIs, identify risks/opportunities, and generate/iterate solution concepts and supporting materials.
- Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns and AI workflows to improve speed and quality of solution development.
- Apply prompt-engineering best practices and curate AI outputs to ensure technical coherence, compliance, and alignment with capture strategy.
- Support color team reviews (e.g., Pink/Red/Gold) by quickly iterating solution narratives based on feedback.
- Collaborate closely with capture managers, proposal managers, technical SMEs, operations/program managers, and the Lead Solution Architect.
- Advocate for safe, secure, and compliant use of AI in capture/proposal activities and assist with internal AI pilots and training for team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting DoD or defense-related mission support environments.
- Strong understanding of defense mission contexts and solution constructs (systems integration, logistics/sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, etc.).
- Familiarity with federal proposal structure and content (technical/management volumes, evaluation criteria).
- Demonstrated professional use of commercial AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for analysis, drafting, and content refinement.
- Experience designing effective AI prompts and repeatable prompt patterns to generate consistent, high-quality outputs.
- Excellent written communication skills for structured, customer-facing proposal content.
- Strong analytical ability to synthesize RFP requirements, technical baselines, and stakeholder input into coherent solution narratives.
- High attention to detail and ability to ensure traceability from requirements to solution features.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- U.S. citizenship required and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance as needed for assigned projects.
- Ability to support proposal timelines including surge periods and non-standard hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a related defense discipline.
- Familiarity with enterprise or government-specific AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI) and secure AI environments.
- Conceptual/architectural exposure to generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-assisted analytics.
- Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley, gated reviews, color teams).
- Track record of working across cross-functional capture/proposal teams (SMEs, program managers, business development).
Working Conditions
- Location: Remote within CONUS (occasional travel <20% for team sessions, workshops, or proposal orals).
- Employment type: Full-time (pre-award capture/proposal support).
- Schedule: Must support proposal timelines and surge periods; may include non-standard hours to meet submission deadlines.
- Reports to: Lead Solution Architect; operates as a shared resource across multiple capture/proposal efforts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $140,000 (good-faith estimate; actual pay may vary with experience, location, and other factors).
- Benefits (may vary by location/employment type): health, dental, vision; paid time off and holidays; 401(k) with employer match; parental leave; educational reimbursement; employee stock purchase plan; disability and life insurance; pet insurance; tax-saving options.
- Note: Some positions may be governed by collective bargaining agreements, SCA, or other employment contracts which could affect benefits.
