What You’ll Do

This role supports capture and proposal efforts by using AI-enabled tools to shape compliant, competitive technical solutions and turn them into proposal-ready artifacts. You will work pre-award only (capture/proposal), reporting to a Lead Solution Architect and serving as a shared resource across capture teams.

• Support live DoW captures and proposals by developing high-level technical concepts that respond to solicitation requirements, evaluation criteria, and customer constraints.
• Translate customer requirements, capability narratives, and technical baselines into proposal-ready artifacts (solution descriptions, features/benefits tables, compliance mappings, discriminators) using AI-assisted analysis and content generation.
• Draft and refine technical and management volume content to demonstrate how proposed solutions meet mission needs, reduce risk, and deliver measurable value.
• Create and maintain reusable solution architectures, workflows, and patterns focused on clarity, compliance, and competitive differentiation.
• Operate as a shared resource across multiple pursuits and prioritize tasks in coordination with capture and proposal leadership.

AI-Enabled Solutioning & Tools

• Use internal enterprise AI platforms (for example, ChatGPT.gov, AwardedAI) and commercial tools (for example, Claude) to analyze RFPs/RFIs, extract requirements, identify risks/opportunities, and generate solution narratives.
• Develop and maintain repeatable prompt patterns and AI workflows that speed solution development while preserving quality and compliance.
• Apply prompt-engineering best practices to obtain accurate, relevant, and defensible outputs from AI tools.
• Curate, validate, and integrate AI-generated content to ensure technical coherence and alignment with capture strategy and reviewer feedback.

PWin & Competitive Differentiation

• Ensure AI-enabled solution concepts support win themes, strengths, and discriminators defined by capture teams.
• Surface AI-assisted insights that reveal potential enhancements, efficiencies, or innovative features to increase Probability of Win (PWin).
• Support rapid iteration during color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold) by refining solution narratives and artifacts based on reviewer input.

Collaboration & Stakeholders

• Collaborate closely with:
  • Lead Solution Architect (technical mentor and supervisor)
  • Capture Managers (strategy and win themes)
  • Proposal Managers (volume structure, schedule, compliance)
  • Technical SMEs and engineering leads (technical accuracy)
  • Operations and Program Managers (past performance and operational realism)
• Coach and enable capture/proposal teams on safe, effective AI use for solutioning and proposal development.

AI Advocacy, Enablement & Safe Use

• Advocate day-to-day for responsible and secure AI use in capture and proposal activities.
• Support AI pilots and internal experimentation; document lessons learned and recommended practices.
• Provide informal training on prompt strategies, typical use cases, and AI limitations while emphasizing oversight, QA, and data protection.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting DoW or comparable defense mission environments.
• Strong understanding of defense mission areas and common solution constructs (systems integration, logistics & sustainment, training & simulation, C5ISR, etc.).
• Familiarity with structure and content of federal proposals, including technical and management volumes and evaluation criteria.
• Demonstrated proficiency with commercial AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for analysis, drafting, solution exploration, and content refinement.
• Experience designing effective prompts and repeatable prompt patterns for consistent outputs.
• Excellent written communication and strong analytical skills; high attention to detail and compliance traceability.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by assigned projects.
• Ability to support proposal timelines, including surge periods and non-standard hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data/AI, business, or a defense-related discipline.
• Familiarity with enterprise or government-specific AI platforms (e.g., secure AI environments).
• Conceptual/architectural exposure to generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-assisted analytics.
• Experience with structured capture/proposal processes (Shipley, gated reviews, color teams).
• Prior collaboration experience with technical SMEs, program managers, and BD professionals.

Working Conditions

• Location: Remote within CONUS (telecommute); occasional travel (<20%) for in-person workshops, team sessions, or proposal orals.
• Employment Type: Full-time; ability to support surge periods and non-standard hours.
• Reports to: Lead Solution Architect; functions as a shared resource across multiple capture and proposal teams.
