Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an AI Data Scientist Senior Associate to join their Assurance/analytics practice in Tampa, FL. In this hands-on data science role you will turn complex data into actionable insights using statistical analysis, machine learning, and modern AI approaches (including generative AI where relevant). You’ll support client engagements, build data solutions and visualizations, and mentor junior team members while growing your technical and client-facing skills.
What You’ll Do
- Leverage advanced analytics and statistical techniques to extract insights from large, messy datasets
- Design and build robust data solutions and pipelines to transform raw data into business-ready inputs
- Perform exploratory and descriptive analysis to surface trends and inform strategy
- Develop and validate predictive models using machine learning and deep learning methods
- Create clear, compelling data visualizations and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Apply model evaluation, experimentation, and validation best practices to ensure reliability
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data science workflows
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists and analysts
- Commit to continuous learning to keep pace with emerging AI/ML technologies
Minimum qualifications (What You Must Have)
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field
- At least 2 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related role
- Proficiency with Python and common data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch or similar)
- Practical experience building models, evaluating performance, and deploying reproducible workflows
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders
Preferred / What Sets You Apart
- Degree or coursework in Accounting, Data Science/Analytics, AI/Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or related fields
- Experience with natural language processing and neural networks
- Familiarity with generative AI techniques and modern AI/ML approaches
- Prior exposure to data engineering, ETL/pipeline development, and ensuring data quality
- Experience in predictive modeling, experimentation design, and model validation
- Strong visualization skills and experience communicating findings to business leaders
- Comfort navigating ambiguity while building trusted client relationships
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $72,000 - $184,440 (actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location).
- Note: a higher Washington-state range was listed in the source; this posting is for Tampa, FL and uses the Tampa-range above.
- All hires are eligible for annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off and other standard benefits).
